The gala and fashion show aren’t the only big events going on at Dine By Design East. We’re also planning a jam-packed weekend of culinary and decorating seminars at the Olympic Community Hall venue at 2304 Hunter Street.
On Saturday October 3 at 1 p.m., chef Diandra Phipps of EnVie will lead a seminar on “Plant Based Cuisine.” She’ll discuss delicious vegan ingredients, share take-away recipes and offer samples of her creative vegan dishes. Stay after the presentation to view the 10 dining spaces of the event, included with your $20 admission. (We’ll also have food trucks outside the venue on both Saturday and Sunday, if this seminar gets you hungry).
On Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m. HGTV star Meredith Heron takes the stage for a special seminar on “Liveable Luxury.” She’ll share ways you can have luxurious furniture, décor and accessories into your home. She’s appeared on Love By Design, Steven & Chris, Design Match and Restaurant Makeover. You’ll love her no-nonsense edge and great sense of humour.
On both Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. we’ll be hosting panels with this year’s décor, design and building experts. Learn from the people who designed and built our 10 incredible dining rooms. Come armed with your questions and they’ll give you advice on tackling your biggest home design challenges.
All weekend long, we’ll be raffling off a custom made Silva Custom Furniture ottoman and pillows (covered in Meredith Heron’s new fabric line for JF Fabrics) and an antique chair reupholstered in custom designed fabric by Bedford textile artist Marilyn Smulders.
I’ll be at the venue all weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
