Magic Squares
These scrumptious squares are perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (250 ml) graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup (113 g) butter, melted
- 1 cup (185 g) chocolate chips
- 1 cup (110 g) toasted pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup (75 g) shredded coconut, sweetened or unsweetened
- 1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch (20-cm) square baking pan.
- Spread out pecans on a cookie sheet and place in the preheating oven for about 5 minutes. Remove pecans onto a plate to cool.
- In a medium bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Transfer to prepared pan and press into an even layer.
- Spread chocolate chips on top in an even layer. Do the same with the pecans and coconut. Pour condensed milk on top.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until coconut is golden brown. Cool completely before slicing.
