Magic Squares

These scrumptious squares are perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250 ml) graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup (185 g) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (110 g) toasted pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup (75 g) shredded coconut, sweetened or unsweetened
  • 1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch (20-cm) square baking pan.
  2. Spread out pecans on a cookie sheet and place in the preheating oven for about 5 minutes. Remove pecans onto a plate to cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Transfer to prepared pan and press into an even layer.
  4. Spread chocolate chips on top in an even layer. Do the same with the pecans and coconut. Pour condensed milk on top.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until coconut is golden brown. Cool completely before slicing.
