It’s hard to believe that our Winter issue comes out next week. I’m still in denial that fall is almost over. I thought you’d enjoy seeing a peek of what we’ll be featuring in our new magazine.

Our décor and food sections revolve around our annual design education fundraiser, Dine By Design East, which just wrapped up a successful second year. In our décor section, we profile the 10 unique dining spaces that were created by local decorators, architects and designers for the event. Here’s a look at the space designed by Attica.

For the Dine By Design East gala, Attica was matched with chef Luis Clavel of the Atlantica Hotel. He prepared a special menu inspired by Attica’s playful modern space. Here’s a shot of Clavel’s spiked ice cream–one of his creative recipes. Watch for recipes from all of the participating chefs in the magazine.

This issue features two very different homes. One is a chic DIY space in Dieppe, New Brunswick that was transformed by Sophie and Laurent Léger. I love the shots photographer Martin Cormier took of their fun interior. Many photos, like this one, feature the Légers and their adorable kids. It was hard narrowing down our picks for the magazine!

And finally, here’s a shot of the beautiful historic home in North End Halifax we’re profiling in our cover story. This is homeowner Jason Ross playing with his Great Danes Lily and Annie in the den. Jason has decorated his house with artwork from many of Canada’s leading artists. In this room, it’s artwork by Newfoundland artist Christopher Pratt that takes centre stage.
