We’ve just sent our summer issue to press, so I thought it would be fun to share a few teaser photos from it to whet your appetite. This issue is brimming with colour, local artwork and great ideas on brightening up your space for the warmer weather.
We feature this Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island home designed by local architect Lorin Brehaut. Here’s a shot of the dining room overlooking the Murray River. Don’t you love its laid-back, beachy vibe? Photo by Stephen Harris.
We also feature this retro-chic space in North End Halifax. Homeowners Suzanne Hickey and Steve Anderson overhauled the entire space, re-doing the kitchen with rough-cut timber shelving and countertops. Photo by Bruce Murray.
Here’s a taste of some of the local artisans we’ll be profiling in the magazine. From left: a vibrant painting by Halifax artist Karen Kulyk, a hand-carved sculpture by Bass River stone carver Heather Lawson, hand-woven wall hanging by P.E.I. artist Rilla Marshall.

Finally, here’s a beauty shot by Dennis Evans from our story on artisanal ice cream. We held the shoot last summer at Dee Dee’s Ice Cream in Halifax. A lot of ice cream was consumed for these photos!
The new magazine should reach subscribers across Atlantic Canada starting the week of June 15. If you’re not yet a subscriber, consider signing up online so you’ll always receive the latest issue first. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks in the coming days, and feel free to drop me a line with your feedback and story ideas.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of things to check out here on our website and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
