The Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council Christmas Show happens Nov. 18 to 20 at the Cunard Centre. This year’s event marks 41 years of the annual show, and East Coast Living will be there to celebrate.

  • We’re giving away two pairs of free tickets. Visit our Facebook page to enter.

Visit us at the 8th Annual Designer Interiors Showcase. This year the NSDCC is taking a more intimate approach by combining home furnishings with works by NSDCC members. Attica Furnishings will supply a room of furniture, and the artisans will transform it into an eye-catching space filled with local art, décor, and other visual elements.

I’ll be on hand each day to introduce the showcase speakers. They are:

On Friday at 2 p.m. meet Nicole Mensour of Maddex Interiors, a home staging and organizing firm in Halifax. Nicole turned a lifelong passion for design and organizing into a business about 2 years ago. Come learn how to make the most of your space.

Saturday at 2 p.m. Suzanne Saul will answer your burning home décor questions. Suzanne co-founded Attica Furnishing with her partner Christopher Joyce in 1995. The store recently moved to North-End Halifax to better showcase its wares.

Pop-by to hear what the designers have to say, and while you’re there subscribe to a year of East Coast Living at the special Christmas Show price of $15.

Another great addition to this year’s show is extended hours. The show is open to the public Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 for an adult day pass, and $9 for the weekend. Student, senior, family and Group of Seven discounts will be available at the door.
