October 3 will be a dazzling event showcasing design luminaries and culinary giants from Halifax

I’m very excited to tell you about a special event we’re planning for this fall called Dine By Design East. The premise is so cool. Ten Halifax designers will each be transforming blank 10′ by 10′ plywood spaces into extraordinary dining rooms. They’ll source everything for their rooms–paint, wallpaper, light fixtures, furniture, dishware and artwork–I can’t wait to see the amazing and inventive designs they’ll come up with!

A top local chef will be matched with each designer and will create a special menu inspired by the dining room design. Everything will come together on Thursday October 3 with a Gala night celebrating the food and the designs. The chefs will be there with delicious hor d’oeuvres of their menus to sample and the designers will be there discussing their work. They’ll also be sampling of local wines, a silent auction and artwork displays.

Everything will be taking place in a transformed Olympic Community Hall on Hunter Street. You’ll be able to tour the dining rooms from Oct 2 – 6.
